Star Trek beauty Marina Sirtis is saying farewell to the role that has made her a star to take a part in Casualty. (A BBC Medical Drama)

Marina is known to millions as ship's counsillor Deanna Troi from three movies and hit tv series.

London-born Marina told TVPlus: "The 10th movie will probably be my last. I don't think she'll [Deanna Troi] will be killed off but it will make the last film for our cast. I'm in meeting with the people who make Casualty this week.

Star Trek actress Marina Sirtis is in talks with the BBC to star in a new episode of Casualty.

Marina, who plays Deanna Troi, told TVPlus: " I want to to do a one-off episode. I live in the US and there is going to be an actor's strike so I'll come over to the Uk for it.

"Everyone thinks that getting on Star Trek stops you getting work in other shows. But it hasn't. We've all gone on to do other things and the work keeps coming."

It was opened by Marina Sirtis yesterday. Marina, from North London, told TVPlus: "It's amazing - I've become part popular culture"
